USC Head Coach Steve Spurrier:
Opening Statement:
"It was a mismatch tonight. It looked like a Division III team playing an SEC team. I think the Division III team could
have made some more plays than we did. We did make some plays, but just couldn't get it done."
On the Gamecocks defense
"We haven't been very good against the run and it showed tonight. Those two
backs [Darren McFadden and Felix Jones] run extremely well. They are both really good."
On the game as a whole
"Arkansas was just physically stronger than we were and there was nothing we
could do about it. There's not much of a chance if you can't stop the run."
On quarterback Blake Mitchell
"Blake [Mitchell] played well. He missed a couple of guys here and there.
He had a lot of pressure on him in this game. Our pass block has been struggling all year, so it's not all Blake's fault."
On Darren McFadden's 80 yard touchdown run
"He didn't have to do much to score on that play. He didn't
have to juke anybody. He didn't have to sidestep anybody. I don't think anyone even touched him."
